Here’s the Avatar teaser trailer!

avatar-trailerAvatar began filming in April 2007 and now we finally have a glimpse of what James Cameron has been working on for the past 2 years. Due to all the special effects work that needs to be done in post-production Cameron and 20th Century Fox haven’t released anything from the film until recently. All we’ve had for the past 2 years are quotes from the actors and people involved, hyping the film up to a level that has never been seen before. James Cameron even said that he fears the hype may kill it. However, we now have a teaser trailer so we can judge for ourselves. Watch below!

I watched it with an open mind and wasn’t expecting to see the ‘greatest movie ever’ like some of the hype suggests. The close up shots of the Na’vi are amazing, and I don’t think some people will take in that 60% of what we see is CGI. Those lucky enough to get tickets for 16 minutes of Avatar footage tomorrow (including myself) will be able to get a bigger picture of what we are actually seeing.

What do you think of the Avatar trailer? Does it meet expectations? Does it blow your mind?

yeah i read people go like..."gollum looks realer" .. i think they just dont get that like all of the last 30 secs are cgi.
And it looks great i was a bit underwhelmed first...but with more and more watching I get hyped again
  • I think over the years people have formed an image in their head what they think it will look like, then when they finally see what it looks like it's either different or it disappoints.

The more and more I watch it the more I warm to it. It's going to be epic!

The more I watch it, the more I like the way they look. <3 I'm still trying to keep myself from getting too excited over it, but this is making it difficult.
  • I think it looks good :D

IMDB says that it's only 60% CGI...
  • Thanks, I've updated the post :D

yeah, gets better with every watching. saw at work first, on lots of coffee. was seriously dissapointed and underwhelmed.

now home, relaxed, glass of wine... it's looking pretty incredible! the Na'vi are fake looking, no doubt. really stands out when they are juxtaposed with real people. but i can tell this is going to be one powerful ride! i'm stoked again.

eh, james's movies have all been great, and i am expecting this one to be the same. but i am not as excited about this movie as i was district 9 or the wolfman, but like i said this movie will probly be amazing, since cammeron did it, but not excited about the 3D....3D movies over the years have gotten better but as all 3D eras have ended this one will to end like all the rest. because the novlety wears off after a while and its to hard to watch i feel to worn out after a 3D movie.

I'm glad to see a trailer finally... I don't think there was anyway that this was going to look as good as the image I had formed in my head, based on all the hype. And I must say, I was a little startled at how CG it looks. However, I just turned off the part of my brain which registers that, and voila... Awesome.

I thought this was going to be about the tv cartoon, already airing, so I could take my children. I think I'll wait for something age approiate.

The movie based off of the Avatar TV show is called 'The Last Airbender'. So, it's still coming out. :3
