The take on the Holmesian premise may be worse than the casting. Jude Law could possibly have been a traditional Holmes. Conan Doyles' original stories and portrayals were so absolutely engrossing any attempt to jazz (trash) them up is ridiculous. Holmes fans will be sickened by this and non-Holmes fans simply won't show. What could possibly have been better than a properly cast and faithfully portrayed A Study In Scarlet or The Sign of Four? I won't waste my money on this outrage at the theatre, nor rent the dvd when it comes out.

The casting appears to be atrocious.
