The casting appears to be atrocious. The take on the Holmesian premise may be worse than the casting. Jude Law could possibly have been a traditional Holmes. Conan Doyles' original stories and portrayals were so absolutely engrossing any attempt to jazz (trash) them up is ridiculous. Holmes fans will be sickened by this and non-Holmes fans simply won't show. What could possibly have been better than a properly cast and faithfully portrayed A Study In Scarlet or The Sign of Four? I won't waste my money on this outrage at the theatre, nor rent the dvd when it comes out.

Just saw the movie. Incredibily entertaining, great story line, great visual. We loved it!
