It’s taken them a few years but they’ve finally got round to it. SnitchSeeker noticed a tweet by Warwick Davis (Filius Flitwick/Griphook) who announced that today, June 12th 2010, is the last day of principal photography for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and the Harry Potter franchise as a whole.
The end of an Era – today is officially the last day of principal photography on ‘Harry Potter’ – ever. I feel honoured to be here as…
…the director shouts cut for the very last time. Farewell Harry & Hogwarts, it’s been magic! x
The first film began shooting way back in October 2000 so it’s been a long ten years, and I doubt a feat like this will ever be accomplished again by another franchise/studio. Not with the same cast, dedication and quality anyway.
To acknowledge this accomplishment here’s a thrilling 9 minute trailer showcasing every Happy Potter film to date:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I will be released in November, and Part II will be released July 2011.
