Director Bryan Singer has been keeping quiet when asked whether Halle Berry would be joining Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and others from the original trilogy in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The reason for his vagueness is probably because negotiations are currently under-way, but Berry seemed confident of her return as Storm while promoting her upcoming thriller The Call.
From Shadow and Act:
Well, she did confirm to me that she would be returning in the role. Most likely. Practically 90% sure. And she nodded a lot too.
She told me that are a few details that are still being negotiated which she couldn’t get into. But since she did tell me that the film starts shooting in April, it’s highly unlikely that talks are going to suddenly and horribly fall apart at this point.
It won’t be official until Bryan Singer tweets it, as he has done with the previously announced cast, but it’s looking positive that we may be seeing some of this in the film:
The Days of Future Past comic storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps.
James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, and Nicholas Hoult are all set to reprise their roles, along with Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, and Shawn Ashmore. Filming will begin in April for a July 2014 release.
