We finally have some Iron Man 2 news that doesn’t involve an actor being hired, fired or possibly having to drop out! Gwyneth Paltrow spoke to MTV and revealed that she hasn’t yet seen the script, and doesn’t know what Pepper Potts will be up to in the sequel.
“They haven’t even given me a script yet,” Paltrow told MTV News. “They don’t tell me anything. I could be, like, a costume assistant in it. I know nothing.”
We’re assuming Paltrow will be back as Pepper Potts, but the on-and-off casting of potential love interest Emily Blunt as The Black Widow has us wondering what dynamic Paltrow and Downey’s characters will have in the eagerly anticipated sequel.
“I have no idea what it is,” said Paltrow of the relationship Potts will have with Tony Stark in the film. “Jon Favreau said it would be good, so I believe him.”
In other Iron Man 2 news actress Eliza Dushku appeared on the Howard Stern Show on Sirius/XM Radio this morning to promote her new television show Dollhouse, and basically used the opportunity to try and bag herself a role in Iron Man 2.
“They’re doing Iron Man 2, and I’m so perfect for the Black Widow character, that they just need to get into it. They need to understand… I just learned Russian because I had to play a Russian girl in Dollhouse.”
“Maybe we could all tell them. Lets get on a Black Widow Iron Man 2 campaign.”
Personally I like the idea of Emily Blunt playing The Black Widow, but if she has to pull out due to scheduling conflicts I suppose Eliza Dushku has the look and the newly learnt skill of speaking Russian to pull it off.
