Warner Bros. has released a new behind the scene video showing how Gravity was filmed by director Alfonso Cuaron and his team. The whole process took over 4 years and new technology had to be developed as there simply wasn’t anything around that would allow Cuaron to make the film he envisioned.
To get the light and camera angles correct the team developed The Lightbox, a cube consisting of 4,096 LED bulbs which had a rig to hold Sandra Bullock in place and allows the camera to whirl around her. In the video it mentioned that Bullock trained on wires for 5 months in order to create the floating effect of space.
