Ghost Rider 2 to shoot in Romania

Romanian website Hot News (via MovieWeb) has confirmed that Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance will be shot in 3D and production will begin in Romania later this year. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, the duo behind Crank, Crank: High Voltage, and Gamer, will be directing and Nicolas Cage will be back as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider.

Cage told MTV last month he will be heading to Romania and “Ghostrider has to ride up to Dracula’s castle”, which suggests he will be battling Dracula next time round.

Apparently Columbia has to begin production on another Ghost Rider movie by November 14th 2010, otherwise the rights will revert back to Marvel. David Goyer has been working on the script and he previously mentioned that the film is set 8 years after the first one, and is a “bit more stripped down and darker”.
