Lionsgate has revealed the full Catching Fire cast list over on its Facebook Page. This last batch of roles revealed were little more than extras, with character names like “District 6 tribute girl,” but that hasn’t quelled fan excitement.
The most interesting role revealed turned out to be one we’ve known all along. I previously mentioned that there was a mysterious female role at the bottom of the page, which fuelled a lot of fan speculation. As it turns out the “mystery role” was a red herring, the character turned out to be Katniss’ mother who appeared in the first film.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.
