Paramount’s YouTube channel has debuted the first trailer for The Wolf of Wall Street, the latest finance-themed caper movie to appear in theaters since the financial crisis.
Jordan Belfort’s bestselling memoir of the same name, which follows his rise and fall on Wall Street, inspired Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, Kyle Chandler, Margot Robbie, Jon Favreau, Rob Reiner, Jean Dujardin, PJ Byrne and Kenneth Choi.
DiCaprio plays stockbroker/swindler Belfort who was accused in 1998 of security fraud and money laundering that involved widespread corruption on Wall Street and in the corporate banking world, including mob infiltration. The real-life multi-millionaire served a 22-month federal prison stretch for refusing to cooperate.
Check out the first trailer for the film, which looks full of the excesses of capitalism, below. The Wolf of Wall Street trailer music is a track from Kanye West’s forthcoming album, Yeezus, called Black Skinhead.
It looks like three-time Oscar nominee is having the time of his life here. And, Omg, McConaughey still looks like Dale from King of the Hill while playing Belfont’s mentor Mark Hanna in the film.
The screenplay is by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire).
Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street hits theaters November 15th.
