First trailer for Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty

zero dark thirty seal team six Image Columbia Pictures has released a teaser trailer for Zero Dark Thirty, which is Kathryn Bigelow’s first film since winning Best Director and Motion Picture for The Hurt Locker in 2010.

The film stars Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Chris Pratt, Kyle Chandler, Mark Strong, and Jason Clarke, and follows the Navy SEAL Team 6 in their hunt for Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Watch the teaser below:

Zero Dark Thirty is set for release on December 19th, 2012, and given the subject matter it will get some attention. However, whether it’s another awards contender for Bigelow remains to be seen.

      A real teaser trailer for once.

      Most of today’s teaser trailers either give away far too much information or not nearly enough.
      A teaser trailer should be like one chapter from a book with the final trailer being the synopsis.
