This is probably the last big trailer of the year and fortunately it doesn’t disappoint. Alien: Covenant is Ridley Scott’s sequel to Alien prequel Prometheus.
“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the synthetic David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”
I know not a lot of people liked Prometheus, but I personally enjoyed it for what it ended up being. Now this, Alien: Covenant, well it looks like Ridley Scott is really going back to the roots of the series. That will certainly make more than a few fans happy. We don’t get to see a lot of Xenomorph action in those 2 minutes which is okay since this is after all the very first trailer. What really got to me was the tone, it just felt right, like an Alien movie right. I’m looking forward to seeing this next year and it might just make my top 10 most anticipated releases of 2017. Still thinking about that list and it should hopefully be on the site sometime next week.
Ridley Scott directed Alien: Covenant with a screenplay by John Logan (Skyfall). Starring in the sci-fi thriller are Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, James Franco, Guy Pearce, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, Noomi Rapace and many others.
Alien: Covenant drops May 19th 2017 in the US and around the world.
