We’ve already seen what Charlize Theron looks like as the Evil Queen in Snow White and the Huntsman, and now EW have posted our first look at Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen in Tarsem Singh’s Snow White movie.
Here’s a description of the Evil Queen character from the article, along with comments from the director:
Like many evil-doers, this queen maintains a phony cheerful demeanor in public, and prefers not to get her own hands dirty with such menial issues as murdering her step-daughter, which is the only way to maintain her place on the throne. “She outsources her evil, just like most people,” says Tarsem. “I wanted a person who is just schizophrenic. She’s a person who would just do all the evil she needs to do to stay in power.”
The site also posted an image featuring Snow White (Lily Collins) and her seven dwarves.
Here we are beginning to see clear visual differences between this movie and Snow White and the Huntsman. Tarsem Singh seems to have followed the Alice in Wonderland route with vibrant and over-the-top costumes, where as Hunstman looks more realistic and darker with Kristen Stewart wearing armour and Charlize Theron in a more evil attire.

Tarsem Singh’s movie, set for release March 2012, begins with the evil stepmother (Julia Roberts) killing Snow White’s father and destroying the kingdom. Snow White then bands together with a gang of seven quarrelsome dwarves to reclaim what is rightfully hers.
