That's problem with the Hollywood Machine. No real imagination.
Gemma Arterton as a Princess of India?
I do like her, but they could have made a phone call and gotten any of a number of Bollywood actresses to play the part, if they could not find a Western actress of Indian descent.
I'm sure there are a number of Persian actors in North America to chood from. They even have one in Heroes.

I've never played the game, but the casting already leaves much to be desired.

That's problem with the Hollywood Machine. Sorry to be picky.

This is pathetic to bring it up but, you know in the games how you could run up enemies bodies, well if they dont have that in all honesty it will ruin it all for me.<br

I don't know how picky I'm going to get over this particular movie but it is definitely a case of racefail.

Kuro, you nailed it. I think the movie will do fine and im not bringing it up to overall bash the project, but honestly, The whole thing looks kinda hokey with Jake Gyllenhal Running around. I love the games but i judge film and games on different things. It doesn't have to be a perfect translation. I just hate when the name of an actor without a shirt sells your movie for you. I would have liked to see Naveen Andres (aka Sayid Jarrah) of Lost fame play the prince.

id hate to bring this into it but for once i think its a valid detail…..WHY couldn't they just get a middle eastern actor or actor that looked more middle eastern? This movie has been in pre-production hell since before any of the Pirates movie sequels were made and it was planned from the start as a spiritual successor to that franchise in case people got sick of, you know, Pirates.
It seems people didn't get sick of Pirates so now Disney has this and that so that's cool for them.
Fans have to understand that it's just inspired by the game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, so it won't follow that exact storyline but it will have a lot of common elements into play. The Hourglass is there, the Dagger of Time (with it's power no less) is there, we get to see some parkour, the setting is there and it has a similar story arch (this has to do a lot with the ending of the movie that's very similar to the way Sands of Time ended).
I think ultimately fans won't be disappointed with the movie.

It's aiming for a Pirate of the Caribbean feeling and that fact the script was written by Jordan Mechner (the creator of the franchise no less) helps a lot.

I mean we didnt really heard or saw anything...however I will see it anyway in cinema) that it will be just another sword-action movie...a good one probably but still nothin special

well if they stay true with the game and find a nice way to introduce the "shortwaybackintime" effects then we will get an interesting movie with some new aspects..if they wont add it…then i assume by now (dont wanna make an actual judgement now… I mean we didnt really heard or saw anything…however I will see it anyway in cinema) that it will be just another sword-action movie…a good one probably but still nothin special

<!--
