Warning: Potential Spoilers!
Ain’t It Cool News claim to have landed the exciting news that this year’s forthcoming Fast and Furious 6 will unveil Jason Statham (The Expendables, Transporter) as the main villain for the planned seventh instalment. It is alleged that Statham’s character Ian Shaw, the brother of Owen Shaw (played by Luke Evans), will appear at the end of the movie.
Statham’s impact will apparently be huge, as his character will be seen capturing a member of the Fast team before calling Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and setting up Fast and Furious 7 with an almighty bang.
Here’s the scoop from Ain’t It Cool News
Now, if you’ll remember… Statham was reportedly up for the villainous role of Owen Shaw for this summer’s film before he turned down the offer. Well, that wasn’t entirely true, now was it? Statham simply accepted a smaller part this time around to build to his much bigger and more established inclusion for the seventh film in the series, which now looks to put the FAST & FURIOUS crew back on the run in some respects, as Statham gives chase, seeking revenge for what happens to his younger brother in #6.
We won’t have to wait long to see if the rumours are true as Fast and Furious 6 is due for release in the US and UK on 24th May 2013.
Here’s the synopsis:
After the events of Fast Five, professional criminal Dominic Toretto and his crew are wealthy, but their criminal records prevent them from returning to their home country. Following his attempts to apprehend them, Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent Luke Hobbs offers the crew a deal; he will give them all full pardons for their crimes if they help him take down a lethally skilled mercenary organization led by a criminal mastermind and his ruthless second-in-command, Dominic’s thought-dead lover Letty Ortiz.
The film also stars Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker, Gina Carano, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris Bridges and Elsa Pataky.
