ERC dropped news on Twitter that 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot has been given a March 6, 2015 release date. This means it will be hitting 10 years after the 2005 Fantastic Four movie which starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis.
Chronicle director Josh Trank is in charge of rebooting the franchise, and he’ll have Kick-Ass and Wanted creator Mark Millar on hand as a creative consultant. Millar, who is also lending his wisdom to X-Men: Days of Future Past and all future Fox superhero movies, has been hinting that an X-Men/Fantastic Four cross-over may be what they’re building towards, but that’ll be further down the line after the new Fantastic Four universe has been established.
The March 2015 release date gives Trank just over 2 years to make the film, with shooting likely to take place late-2013/early 2014. Expect casting news sometime next year.
