It’s taken a few years but the big screen adaptation of Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is finally picking up steam, and is now one of the most anticipated films of 2013. Eva Green is the latest big name to join the cast, which already boasts high-profile new additions such as Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jeremy Piven and Ray Liotta.
Director Robert Rodriguez and Miller said in a statement:
“We’ve been wanting to tell this story for a very long time. Ava Lord is one of the most deadly and fascinating residents of Sin City.
“From the start, we knew that the actor would need to be able to embody the multifaceted characteristics of this femme fatale and we found that in Eva Green. We are ecstatic that Eva is joining us.”
Eva Green will fittingly play the deadly femme fatale, Ava Lord. She is definitely no stranger to gritty roles, having shot to fame in Casino Royale opposite Daniel Craig, and she was most recently seen in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows alongside Johnny Depp.
Several Sin City alumni including Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson are all set to return for the Robert Rodriguez directed sequel.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is scheduled for a US release on 4th October 2013.
