Emma Watson’s next movie could be Darren Aronofsky’s Noah

emma watson movie Image According to Deadline Harry Potter actress Emma Watson is in talks to join the cast of Darren Aronofsky’s Noah, a big screen adaptation of the Noah’s Ark story.

Russell Crowe is playing the lead, and if Watson joins she’ll play Ila, a young woman who develops a close relationship with one of Noah’s sons. Douglas Booth (LOL) and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson) were both cast as sons earlier this week, and it will be Booth who’ll be getting friendly with Watson’s character.

Aronofsky’s is gearing up to begin filming in New York and Iceland over the upcoming months, so he’s busy in casting mode. Liam Neeson was originally thought to be circling the antagonist role in the film, but according to Variety Liev Schreiber (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) “has since emerged as a leading contender for that role.” The part of Noah’s wife has also yet to be cast, but Jennifer Connelly and Julianne Moore are both said to be in contention.

Academy Award nominated screenwriter John Logan (Gladiator, The Aviator) wrote the script with Aronofsky, and a March 2014 release date has been set by Paramount.
