Last month news hit that Disney/Pixar were planning a sequel to Finding Nemo, and now they are taking steps to regroup the voice cast. According to THR Ellen DeGeneres is in talks to reprise her role as Dory, the Pacific Regal Blue Tang with short-term memory loss.
I wouldn’t get too excited about the prospect of seeing Marlin and Dory bumbling around in the ocean just yet, as the studio isn’t planning to release the sequel until 2016. They are obviously in no rush, which is a good thing because it gives them plenty of time to get it right, but it’s also a bad thing because it means we’ve got a 4 year wait ahead of us.
Andrew Stanton is returning to direct, and we don’t know anything about the story other than Stanton “has a concept the studio loves”.
Finding Nemo 3D will arrive on the big screen next month.
