Eclipse release date

by Liam on February 23, 2009 · View Comments

new moon The Twilight sequel, New Moon, hasn’t even started filming yet however that hasn’t stopped Summit Entertainment from setting the release date for Eclipse, the third film in the series. According to Variety, Eclipse will be released on June 30, 2010, which is 7 months after New Moon’s November release.

Melissa Rosenberg, who penned the “Twilight” and “New Moon” scripts, is working on “Eclipse.” Summit hasn’t yet selected a director for “Eclipse,” in which Bella is forced to choose between Edward and Jacob.

Fans will no doubt be happy about not having to wait too long between films, but will all of this rushing have a negative impact on the quality of the film? Summit seem so caught up in this ‘get rich quick scheme’ that they won’t even work around the directors. At this rate there will be a different director for each film. Not good.

i thnk they should use the same director as newmoon because the director of twilight sucked i hated the way the movie turned out

i will wait however long needed to make the movie. I just want the movies as good as the books.

As If. The movie for twilight sucked compared to the book and it will stay this way for the rest of the movies... don't get my wrong i'm excited for the movies but there is no comparison between them and the books...

Well Catherine did an awesome job on twilight, all we can do is wait and see. i am happy it comes out sooner but than again i am afraid that not taking the needed time (which is why Catherine walked from new moon) will not give the films all the credit and quality they deserve.

I think that Edward is hot but Jacob is hotter than Edward!

I think the main problem that they are trying to work around is the fact that these are vampires who do not age, and they are worried for those of the cast that are indeed playing vampires; obviously, over time (even if only a little) the cast is going to begin to look aged. Though I do agree that this is putting the quality of the films at serious risk, which doesn't seem like a good reason to preserve the youthful look of the actors when we have technology so advanced now to do otherwise. We'll see what happens I guess.

"Not good" is an understatement. Their first mistake was letting Catherine Hardwicke go, their second was pushing onward with New Moon's release date and now this? Oh, Summit why don't you (or any of the other companies for that matter) realize that fans will wait however long they have to but they won't ever forgive you for ruining what they adore. Summit's walking the edge of a knife here and I don't think they even realize it.

disagreed. the best thing they could have done is to let Catherine Hardwicke go. this director did a better job than she ever could. he captured the characters a lot better

Are they going to even do Breaking Dawn? I really hope they don't put both Eclipse and Breaking dawn together. Then it would be very, very rushed!

rumor has it that breaking dawn will be split into 2 movies, so instead of just 4 fils for the series there will be 5!

i like it but not if we have to wait longer
