Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page know how to promote a movie

drew-barrymoore-ellen-page-kissing I know I’ll be stating the obvious here but if you look above you’ll see Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page kissing. The incident took place during a photoshoot for one of those women’s magazines, where both actresses were interviewed about their upcoming film Whip it!

“[Meeting Drew] was a surreal moment for me in my life,” Ellen said. “You could just feel her warmth and kindness immediately, and the way she carried herself was just so grounded. So then it was like, ‘Oh, this is going to be great.’ And then it went into, ‘Oh, my God, I’m really crazy about this person.’ It just grew and grew and grew and grew and grew.”

Obviously it’s nice to look at and it’s good to see the two have…bonded, but i’m in two minds about how to take it. There aren’t that many female directors around and there’s a constant push in Hollywood to try and get more woman behind the camera. Drew Barrymorre, a female, has directed her first movie and has basically used her sexuality to promote it. Is this a cheap move by the pair to get press? Are they just playing the whole media game? Is it professional to be smooching your director and co-star for a magazine? Or is it just harmless fun?

Here’s the trailer for Whip it!

  • How has she used her sexuality to promote the movie? Are you just referring to this picture?

Ellen and Drew are free spirits who are less inhibited emotionally than the rest of us.
Its what makes them great actors and wonderful human beings.
The pictures are beautiful expressions of their fun and vitality.
  • I agree ^^ Theres nothing sexual here.

i bet you if it was two well known male actors kissing people would be outraged but because its two girls kissing people alright with it. they only did this to just promote the movie to get the male audience to see the movie.
  • You really think people would question a male actors integrity if they had a playful kiss in a photoshoot? If it was Judd Apatow and Seth Rogan do you think people would say they were using their sexuality to promote a movie? No way. I don't think a single person would be "outraged".

You also seem to be forgetting that the photoshoot was for a womens magazine, so it's not aimed at a male audience.

And you think that they thought it wouldn't be all over the internet within hours? Is it sexual to them? No.
Is it to many males who read about it? Yes.
  • The kissing itself isn't sexual and they might be doing it in a friendly way, but when men see it they see things differently, and they start thinking differently too.
