Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax official trailer

Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures bring us the first trailer for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Based on a children’s book written by Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss) and published for the first time way back in 1971, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax tells the story of a 12-year-old and his encounter with a creature called the Lorax.

Watch below:

A 12-year-old boy searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.

After Despicable Me and Hop, both successful films, Illumination Entertainment plan to make this their third $100+ million grosser in a row, something only major animation studios like Pixar, DreamWorks Animation or Blue Sky can claim.

Directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me) and Kyle Balda (animator on A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2 and Monsters. Inc.), Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax features the voices of Zack Efron, Taylor Swift, Ed Helms, Betty White and Danny DeVito as the Lorax. Seriously, can you guys think of anyone better then Danny DeVito to voice the Lorax?

Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is scheduled to open March 2nd 2012 on a weekend that’s starting to look rather interesting with the action-comedy Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and now this.
