Finally saw the film. I really liked it, but the “original” comment still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not only are there elements of “Alien Nation” present, but also “The Fly”, “Robocop”, “Children of Men” and even “Iron Man.”

If Hollywood had made this movie, nobody would be calling it original.

Yes, the Jo'burg locale is intriguing, though I'm sure that the South African film industry has released Sci-Fi Alien movies based there.

“Sort of” isn't good enough. “Utterly” means completely or absolutely.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this film when it comes out in the UK. However, I'm a bit annoyed at Peter Jackson for calling it an “Utterly Original Film.” Upon seeing the first trailer, “Alien Nation” immediately came to mind.

Agreed, my favorite movie of the year thus far! :3 And a movie that really pulled me in, and I'm still thinking about since Saturday. A movie hasn't completely pulled me in like that in ages, I so hope the box office numbers keep climbing for this one. It really deserves it. <3
