The cast for Disney’s live-action alternate fairy tale Maleficent has been coming together quite nicely since Angelina Jolie signed on to star in the title role. Super 8‘s Elle Fanning will play Princess Aurora, indie darling Juno Temple will be one of the three fairies that raise her, and now Deadline reports newcomer Brenton Thwaites has secured the role of the young prince.
An Australian actor known mostly for his television work, Thwaites is the next in the recent line of up-and-coming Aussies that includes the Sam Worthington and Hemsworth Brothers. He starred in a Lifetime original movie Blue Lagoon: The Awakening that comes out next month, so if you’re absolutely dying to see what he can do and can’t wait until 2014 to do so, feel free to check that out.
