Good news for diehard fans of Die Hard, in case you’ve forgotten what John McClain’s previous exploits entailed you can get your memories refreshed in a Die Hard marathon showing every movie back to back, culminating with A Good Day to Die Hard.
Here’s the poster for the marathon:
A Good Day to Die Hard opens on February 14th, but anyone who attends the marathon will get to see it a few hours early. The marathon will take place in theaters across the country and will consist of; Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Live Free or Die Hard and finally A Good Day to Die Hard.
This should make it interesting to see how A Good Day to Die Hard fits with the previous films, as it is the first Die Hard movie with an original script. The first two were both based on unrelated books, while the third and fourth were scripts rewritten to be Die Hard films.
Die Hard isn’t the first franchise to have this kind of marathon; Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Lord of the Rings and Marvel have all run similar marathons in the past few months. Unlike those franchises, the Die Hard films are pretty much the same movie being retold, and the repetitive nature may be too much for one day. If nothing else it will be interesting to see Bruce Willis’ hairline disappear before your eyes.
