Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows trailer

Deathly Hallows TeaserWarner Bros. has released the first official trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which contains footage from both Part I and Part II. It’s epic. I’m just glad I got into the Harry Potter films just before Half-Blood Prince so I can witness the ‘motion picture event of a generation’.

Holy Hufflepuff!

Those who have read the book will know the final battle between Harry and Voldemort is a bit different to what we just saw in the trailer, and producer David Heyman recently explained why:

“Harry and Voldemort go wand to wand in the courtyard, and we get to destroy Hogwarts,” says Heyman. “It’s a mess in there. We probably made a little more of the battle between the two of them (than in the book). We felt we needed to dramatize it.”

“There’s an awful lot of action in this film,” says Heyman. “As much as there is, what I’ve always loved is the character work and the relationships that Jo Rowling has given us.”

The current plan at Warner Bros. is to release another trailer in a month or so purely for Part I, and then after that has been released focus the marketing solely on Part II.

What do you think of the trailer?

The films look AMAZING. Though I can't help but feel it shows too much of the end scenes for people who haven't read the book (and even I myself would rather not have seen some of those bits until watching the actual movie)…

Can't wait … looks like a good job was done … I get the feeling I will enjoy the 1st part more than the 2nd … I just seem to think the 2nd film will only be based on the Last Battle of Hogwarts (might be a bit too dramatic??), like the book I did prefer the adventure part over the battle part … but that's me (die hard fan!!) :)

I agree with Jack, they showed far too much from the ending scene. Even though there's (hopefully) a good half hour after that, they still gave away too much.

Also, I'm all for taking freedoms from the book, as long as the get the important parts in, and explains everything. David Yates has done a good job on 5 & 6, and is the second best director of the series in my view (Chris Columbus did the best book to film adaptions).

All that being said, I look forward to seeing “the motion picture event of a generation”

They really went with the 'epic' route. I'm so impressed, it looks amazing. One of the best trailers I've seen in a while. Going down in the history books. My personal history books anyway.
It really is the end of an era, and it's cool to have ridden it the whole way through. Can't wait for the last 2 movies!

Since the 3rd movie it's always the same: badass trailer, and crapy movie… hope this one will make an exception.

Today, the bulk of the product shown before the feature film consists of previews for future movies and paid advertising (also referred to as trailers or “The Twenty”).

HOLY HUFFLEPUF IS RIGHT! I really wish in part one that they had not shown that much in the kissing scene, and in the beggining he looks down her dress! GROSS! I also pictured Harry lookin like more of a prune when Hermione cureses him!

I got kinda confused when they showed both of them. I thought part 1 was 2 and 2 was 1. And then when I read the book and saw the trailer it gave away a little to musch. Escpecially since I hadn’t finished the book It showed a lot of things that I wanted to be a More then read the book though)suprise. But other whys the trailer is juicy and I really wanted to see the movie ((

Zingy22 again!! the the letter messed up so here it is: I got kinda confused when they showed both of them. I thought 1 was 2 and 2 was 1. And then I read the book and watched the trailer it gave away a little to much. Escpecially since I hadn’t finished the book. It showed a lot (like Hagrid being holed hostage and Harry going to Vildemort. Then Hogwarts blowing up and Harry in his last battle with Voldemort. I was very excited to see it and other whys the trailer is juicy and I really wanted to see the movie, but less then read the stinkin book!!!
