Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which contains footage from both Part I and Part II. It’s epic. I’m just glad I got into the Harry Potter films just before Half-Blood Prince so I can witness the ‘motion picture event of a generation’.
Holy Hufflepuff!
Those who have read the book will know the final battle between Harry and Voldemort is a bit different to what we just saw in the trailer, and producer David Heyman recently explained why:
“Harry and Voldemort go wand to wand in the courtyard, and we get to destroy Hogwarts,” says Heyman. “It’s a mess in there. We probably made a little more of the battle between the two of them (than in the book). We felt we needed to dramatize it.”
“There’s an awful lot of action in this film,” says Heyman. “As much as there is, what I’ve always loved is the character work and the relationships that Jo Rowling has given us.”
The current plan at Warner Bros. is to release another trailer in a month or so purely for Part I, and then after that has been released focus the marketing solely on Part II.
