Lionsgate has released a motion poster (a poster that moves and makes noises) for their Conan the Barbarian reboot.
According to IGN, the motion poster is “a nod to the classic Conan imagery of the late artist Frank Frazetta. Indeed, the poster is an intentional effort to bring Frazetta’s vision of the character to life, just as the new film is a reincarnation and reinvention of the world’s most famous barbarian for modern audiences.”
Check the poster out below (you can turn the audio off at the bottom):
Lionsgate has set an August 19th, 2011 release date for the movie which stars Jason Momoa as Conan himself. Momoa is joined by Ron Perlman who plays Conan’s father, Stephen Lang who will be villain Khalar Singh, and Rose McGowan who plays a “half-human/half-witch”. The story follows Conan and his adventures across the continent of Hyboria on a quest to avenge the murder of his father and the slaughter of his village.
Marcus Nispel (Pathfinder) is directing, and the hope for the producers is to create a movie worthy of a sequel, and ultimately a trilogy.
