After a longer than expected dry spell from the marketing department at 20th Century Fox, not one but two trailers for The Wolverine were released back in March. Now another (shorter) trailer has been released online which was first presented at the CinemaCon in Las Vegas last month.
Watch the trailer below:
Here’s the synopsis:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern-day Japan.
Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed.
Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
The Wolverine will hopefully be an improvement on X-Men Origins: Wolverine as the X-Men franchise doesn’t need another set-back before X-Men: Days of Future Past hits next summer, especially as X-Men: First Class gained back some momentum. Director James Mangold seems passionate enough about the character in interviews, and what we’ve seen in these trailers has promising elements, so it’s just a case of seeing what else the studio has in store for us before The Wolverine opens July 26th, 2013.
