Chronicle sequel gets a writer
Given that 20th Century Fox’s found footage movie Chronicle had a relatively small budget of $12 million there was a good chance that it would be financially successful. Now, as the movie crosses $100 million worldwide, the studio has decided to move forward with a Chronicle sequel and according to Deadline writer Max Landis has been re-hired to work on the script.
No other details were given so it’ll probably be a while before any further developments happen. Chronicle director Josh Trank has been in demand following the successful release and we recently heard he may take on the Venom spin-off for Sony. Trank’s involvement in Chronicle 2 is unknown, but it would be cool if he returned.
Chronicle followed three high school friends who gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Soon, though, they find their lives spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides.
