Last year after the Golden Globe nominations were announced The Hollywood Reporter summoned directors Quentin Tarantino, Peter Jackson, James Cameron, Jason Reitman, Lee Daniels and Kathryn Bigelow together for a big roundtable discussion. It was interesting to watch the directors talk amongst themselves about their films, and about film-making in general. Directors should get together and talk on-camera more often, not just when they are getting nominations!
Well luckily for us movie geeks The L.A. Times have done another group interview with the same directors (minus Jackson), and Avatar director James Cameron spoke about possibly beating Titanic’s record, and about a certain deleted scene that he cut from the final cut (it’ll be on the DVD).
Avatar is around $200 million away from reaching Titanic, so it looks like we may soon have a new ‘highest grossing film ever’. Who’d have thought it when it was released just a month ago? Nobody could have predicted this!
