Hellfire Club xmen first classWith filming on X-Men: First Class officially a-go this coming Monday producer Bryan Singer decided to clear up a few details by calling Harry at AICN. He addressed a few key issues such as who Kevin Bacon will be playing, who the main villains will be, and most importantly of all…whether James McAvoy will be bald.

You can read the full story here, but i’ll point out the main points below: (possible spoilers)

- Kevin Bacon will play Sebastain Shaw, leader of the Hellfire Club. The group is an international social club for wealthy elites who seek to influence world events to their own agenda. Shaw possesses the ability to absorb kinetic energy and transform it into raw strength, and he will be joined by telepath Emma Frost (January Jones).

- James McAvoy will not be shaving his head as we will see Xavier pre-hair loss, but we will see how be injured his legs and became confined to a wheelchair.

- The film takes place in the 1960′s. John F Kennedy is the President of the United States. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X are on TV doing marches. There is a spirit of a hopeful future that was prevalent in that time.

- Singer is excited that the film is going to have a much more international feel than the prior X-Men movies. They’ll be shooting in England & the United States and countries such as Russia will be represented in the film.

- Director Matthew Vaughn is inspired by James Bond’s technology of the time. The costumes will be far more comic bookish than we’ve seen before.

- Cyclops, Jean and Storm will not be in the film. This, along with the absence of Wolverine, means Fox is being pretty bold by making an X-Men movie without the big 4. It was mentioned early on that Fox intends First Class to spawn a new trilogy, so there is a good chance we will see these characters in a sequel after Xavier has set up his school.

An X-Men movie set in the 60s is quite an interesting prospect. I am official excited for this.

With cameras rolling next week we may get some set images in the near future, and hopefully Fox will release some official stills along with way.

this movie is dumb how the hell is Emma Frost is in this but in Wolverine shes an teenage in the 70s plus Havok is the younger brother of Cyclops now his going to group up older then Cyclops. plus they shafted Cyclops once again in the X-Men movie universe all the other was all about Wolverine and now X-Men First Class dont have Cyclops.

    They’re probably ignoring Wolverine.

Making Havok his older brother isn’t that much of a big deal I don’t think. As long as he is his brother.

but ignoring wolverine is kind of dumb cause the general public will be too confuse with the time of these movies. whats Bryan Singer issue with Cyclops anyway his the most important character in the X-Men universe but they bitch slap him once again. when people think of X-Men they think of Cyclops as the leader plus i swear in X-Men 1 Xavier said Cyclops and Jean was his first students so basically they destroy their own continuity from the previous films.

u say Havok been a older brother to Cyclop isnt much of a deal but X-Men comic book fans will say something else. i know u got to make changes for comic book movies but damn if u doing a prequel why would forget the other movies including wolverine.

oh another thing they should of just made X-Men 4 instead of going backwards most people know prequel always mess up expect the JJ Abrams Star Trek but he introudce time travel

This is a problem Hollywood has as of late. It’s either prequels that make no sense or reboots. I’m all down for X-Men: First Class but don’t …. with the characters and make it so that it is impossible to have continuity between First Class and the previous X-Men movies.

A lot of people bashed the new Star Wars trilogy but that at least had continuity.

The more I think about it, the more I think James McAvoy could be a great Charles.

so agree with i dont mind reboots i was all support of Batman Begins reboot cause no way u can continue from Batman and Robin plus it had a fews years apart so we all sort of forgot Batman and Robin. but i hate these prequel that dont follow continuity it really dont make sense at all. i mean FOX should of f-up X-Men 3 to be honest they could of carry on with X-Men 4 introduce Mr Sinister, X-Men 5 Horsemen and X-Men 6 with the rise of Apocalypse.

the Star Wars trilogy did sort of follow continuity but i did not like the idea of the prequel of it cause when u know the history of Darth Vader u lose the mystery of that character. just like Wolverine when u know his history of how he becomes the character who he is u start to dont care about him at all you think what is the point he cant die theirs nothing he should be scared of at all. Hollywood needs to really fix up cause its getting annoying

fter that day, I closed myself in my room. I really missed him. To be frank, I loved him so much that I didn’t want to be apart from him. Everyone around me comforted me. They told me that we had been together for so many years, it shouldn’t result like this. Maybe one day, he would realize his mistake and apologize to me.
