Breaking Dawn will be two films

new moon trailerSummit Entertainment will be taking a leaf out of Harry Potter‘s book and will be splitting the final Twilight film, Breaking Dawn, into two films. According to Deadline Hollywood Summit aim to begin filming later this year, and Melissa Rosenberg (who has written the scripts for all the Twilight films) is currently in the process of adapting the book into screenplay form. They also mention that Summit are looking for “high end” directors to take on Breaking Dawn, which will be filmed back-to-back.

Splitting the film makes sense financially as Summit stand to make another $700+ million (yes, New Moon made over $700 million), and as the Twilight franchise is the main breadwinner for Summit they will need to milk it for all it’s worth.

It is also wise for Summit to be looking for ‘high end’ directors, considering the film could come off as laughable with a poor director in charge. For instance, (spoilers) Bella (Kristen Stewart) becomes pregnant and the baby ends up breaking most of her bones as it has inherited a vampire’s inhuman strength. Then, after Edward (Robert Pattinson) as given Bella a C-Section with his teeth, Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) ‘imprints’ on the baby, which basically means he falls in love with it. I haven’t seen any of the films so far, but I may see Breaking Dawn simply to see how they handle it.

The book has been out for two years, you can read what happens all over the internet, and if you were that interested in the Twilight films you would have probably read the books by now anyway.

Plus what I wrote won't spoil the film for you. It's not a major plot twist or death.

Seriously, is that a reasonable explanation, alright then. Let me just make a point here, one of the main reasons that this movie news website is so good is because this site does not easily give away spoilers, and If that doesn´t matter anymore then I guess this site has changed negatively..

wow…was never a twilight fan, but after reading what's been written for one of those books… all I'm going to say, is that if they get a director who can make those scenes convey emotions other than wanting the audience to burst out laughing, the director should receive an award for making the impossible possible.

I must admit I'll probably go and see the movie just to see if the director can pull it off without me having to bite my lip from laughing out loud when all the pre-teens are quietly sobbing over the “emotional” scene.

Yeah, the labor should be completely gruesome. I mean, she projectile vomits blood for cryin' out loud. Ew! It doesn't surprise me that “Breaking Dawn” will be two films, but I just hope that they change the ending. SPOILER I really didn't like the ending of the book. It's really lame that the Cullens gather so many allies against the Volturi and when they finally come to possibly kill Renesmee it all ends without a fight. That was very disappointing. I wanted there to be a full blown war and the Volturi to go down!!!
