According to Latino Review, Brad Pitt is a name being tossed around over at Marvel to play Thor. They say that Pitt has not been offered the part yet, but Marvel are apparently interested in getting a big name to play the lead role.
This rumour comes days after it was revealed that Stardust director Matthew Vaughn is no longer on board to direct. Vaughn wrote a script with I Am Legend writer Mark Petrosevich, however Marvel were concerned that the movie would cost $300 million to make, so now Mark is trimming down the script while Marvel look for a new director.
I think Matthew Vaughn would have been great on Thor. This is the second time he has had to leave a Marvel project, after leaving X-Men 3 months before filming.
This week Thor was given a release date of June 4 2010.
