Bond Filming Suspended After Third Accident Leaves Stuntman In A Coma

Filming of Quantum of Solace in Italy has been suspended after its third accident in 5 days. The latest incident left Aris Comninos, an “experienced” Greek stuntman, in a coma after his car collided with a lorry and then crashed into a wall. Two stuntmen had already been to hospital after an accident the previous Saturday while they were shooting the same scene. One of them was given 15 stitches to his hand but was immediately discharged. The stunt director of the film’s second unit, Gary Powell, was apparently unhappy with the results of Saturday’s shoot and had ordered the sequence to be shot again.

There was also the accident earlier this week that involved an Aston Martin DB5 swerving off the road and plunging into Lake Garda.

It is not yet known when the filming will continue, but key stunt scenes were being filmed and will have to be re-shot at some point in the future. Daniel Craig and director Marc Foster were not on set during the filming.

Lets hope the stuntmen make a full recovery, although the audience enjoy stunts and action sequences, it is not worth people dying for.
