The much-anticipated sequel to 2012’s monster hit Skyfall may begin shooting this year, according to Ben Whishaw who recently sat down for an interview with the Radio Times. Whishaw, who plays MI6’s new Q, has suggested that he and Daniel Craig will “probably be back together again in about ten months”.
The actor also claimed that Daniel Craig has committed to at least three more Bond movies:
Speaking to RadioTimes.com at the gala screening of his new film Cloud Atlas, the 32-year-old actor revealed that he had not been in touch with Daniel Craig recently because “we know that we’ll probably be back together again in about ten months.” Then, perhaps realising he’d said too much, he added quickly: “Well, hopefully. Let’s hope so!”
Asked who he’d like to see carry on the 007 role after Daniel Craig, Whishaw said: “I know that he’s doing the next three so I’m not thinking beyond that. We’ve got to just get through those first.”
Whishaw also expressed a desire for his own character to have a bigger role in the upcoming sequels, “Well obviously I would like just for him to be in it more!”
Skyfall is the 23rd Bond movie and the highest grossing to date having exceeded $1.1 billion worldwide, making it the second biggest movie of 2012 behind The Avengers.
