Following the news this week that Warner Bros. have signed a deal to release 20 upcoming films, including Batman 3, in IMAX, comes news that Warner Bros. has set an official release date for Batman 3.
From Production Weekly:
Warner Bros. plans to release “Batman 3” on July 20, 2012.
This announcement means Batman 3 it will be released during the same month as the Spider-Man reboot, which will be released on July 3rd 2012.
We don’t really know anything about what the next outing will involve story-wise, although we do know Christopher Nolan will be directing and David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan will be writing the script. Here’s what Chris Nolan said about the film last month:
My brother is writing a script for me and we’ll wait to see how it turns out…he’s struggling to put it together into the epic story that you want it to be.”
“Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story, and in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story. We have a great ensemble, that’s one of the attractions of doing another film, since we’ve been having a great time for years.”
