It’s been making the rounds for the past few days, but just how true is it?

Last week, Ain’t It Cool News reported that none other than Christian Bale has been cast in the role of John Connor in the upcoming Terminator: Salvation movie.

Then, just a few hours later, the boys over at Chud reported that they had received a similar scoop, but one difference. Bale wouldn’t be playing Connor, but instead, the new Terminator himself. So just what the heck is going on here?

Truthfully, who cares? Bale has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few years as one of the best actors of our generation. We know that he takes his roles VERY seriously (take The Machinist for example), and regardless of what he is going to play in the new Terminator film, he’s going to kick ass. Now, it just all depends on the script. I’m sure McG won’t want to disappoint the fans of the series, and he struck gold by casting Bale in a role. Now he just has to not fuck it up.

So, there you have it. Bale is in Terminator 4, we just don’t know as what yet. More as it develops.
