Catherine Hardwicke not directing New Moon

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke will not be directing it's sequel, New Moon. The news first broke on Deadline Hollywood, where it stated that Hardwick "was 'difficult' and 'irrational' during the making of Twilight". However, Summit Entertainment quickly released a statement on the matter: Summit Entertainment and director Catherine Hardwicke jointly announced today that the filmmaker will not be directing the next installment in the newly minted "Twilight" film franchise. Frank Miller, director of The Spirit and one of the directors of Sin City, spoke to IGN and revealed that Sin City 2 is edging closer to being made, nearly 4 years after we got the first film. Warner Bros have confirmed that The Dark Knight will be released on IMAX in the US, with a planned date of January 23rd. Warner Bros. Pictures is bringing The Dark Knight back for a return engagement in theaters and IMAX on January 23, 2009, giving audiences one more chance to see the film on the big screen.
