Shia LaBouf Severely Injured On The Transformers 2 Set

TMZ reports that Shia LaBouf was injured by a prop on the set of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The site says he got a cut below his eyebrow that required stitches.

“After getting sewn up, he went right back to work. Injured hand, injured eyebrow — no problemo.”

Shia was lucky that there were trained medical professionals nearby.

This incident gives me flashbacks to the time Tom Hanks cut his finger on the set of Angels and Demons. We sometimes forgot that these brave actors are putting their lives on the line to provide us with entertainment…we should never forget that! Never!

Dragonball Bootleg Teaser Trailer

Below we have our first look at moving footage from James Wong’s upcoming Dragonball movie. There are a few problems however. There is no sound and the quality is not the best. You can still see whats going on though.

The footage was filmed at the Brand Licensing Europe 2008 convention.

Kirsten Dunst In Spider-Man 4

We heard at the beginning of September that Tobey Maguire and Sam Rami were officially back for Spider-Man 4, however there was no talk about whether Kirsten Dunst would be returning as Mary Jane Watson. Well now the silence has been broken. Kirsten Dunst has opened her mouth. Here is what she told MTV:

“I’m in”

But wait, there’s more!

“I’m not saying anything, I know there’s rumors…”

And there we have it. The big three are back for Spider-Man 4. Are you hosting the party or shall I?

Hercules To Be More Like 300 Than Troy

MTV spoke to Barry Levine who gave a little bit of info about Peter Berg’s upcoming movie, Hercules: The Thracian Wars.

“It’s a whole lot darker,” says Radical president and publisher Barry Levine. He expects this version, to be produced and directed by Peter Berg, to be more “300? than “Troy” or “Alexander.”

“It’s all about taste,” Levine said. “What would have ‘300? been without Zack Snyder? He gave it a stylization. There were no stars. There didn’t need to be. If you have taste and you stay true to the concept and the characters, there’s a lot of embellishment you can do.”

There will be a lot of action, Levine promised, but this version — and the reason Berg came aboard — is more character-driven. “It’s about the redemption,” Levine said. “And when Peter read the first issue that we didn’t print, the 58-pages that were going to the artist, and the issues to come, he was blown away. He goes, ‘That’s the film I want to make.’”

Based on the five-issue mini-series by Steve Moore, newly hired screenwriter Ryan Condal’s version is about how Hercules, after the 12 Labours, has turned his back on the gods and teamed up with a group of men and women to fight for money.

Brett Ratner Confirms He Is Directing God Of War

There was talk back in May of Universal threatening to put Brett Ratner in the directors chair for the game-to-movie adaptation of God of War. Well now they have done more than threaten it, then have actually gone through with it.

Brett Ratner revealed the news to UGO

We caught up with him recently and confirmed either your greatest dream or biggest fear: Brett Ratner is indeed making a movie based on the video game series, God of War. Honestly, I love the Kratos games, however, they aren’t exactly the deepest when it comes to story, so he might just be the right person to handle the film adaptation.

God of War centers on Kratos, a celebrated soldier who is haunted by his past transgressions and his debt to the Gods of Olympus. It could have just been your typical hack and slash game, but the cinematic approach and highly entertaining story line earned it a reputation as one of the best around. Lets hope Ratner can do it justice (although I don’t have high expectations).

Another Way To Die Music Video

We got our first listen just over a week ago, and now the video for Jack White and Alicia Key’s Quantum of Solace theme is online. As expected the video has a Bond edge to it, and after a few listen I would say the song is not that bad, although I think it is the weakest Bond theme in a while.

Zack Snyder Signs Deal With EA

Electronic Arts today announced that 300 and Watchmen director Zack Snyder will bring his unique vision to the development of three original EA games. Snyder will lead the creative direction of the games while working in partnership with the production team at EA Los Angeles.

Under the agreement with Cruel & Unusual Films, EA will own the intellectual properties and the game franchises will be developed, published and distributed worldwide by EA. The deal will then see Zack Snyder adapt the game franchises into moves.

“I think video games are cool because they offer an opportunity to tell a story in an entirely unique way,” said Zack Snyder. “Being a long time fan of the games EA creates, I look forward to collaborating with them.”

So far everything Snyder has touched has been badass, so I expect the same level of badass-ness with these games!

Nottingham Update: Russell Crowe Playing Everyone

Russell Crowe will be playing both The Sheriff of Nottingham AND Robin Hood in Nottingham, according to director Ridley Scott. We had heard about this possibility before, however now it has been confirmed by the director himself.

From MTV:

The news comes straight from the helmer himself, with Scott revealing “He’s playing both!” exclusively to MTV News during an interview for his new film “Body of Lies,” which co-stars Crowe. While Scott held additional details close to his chest — saying they would take too long to describe — he did exclaim that Crowe’s dual roles would be “a good old clever adjustment of characters. One becomes the other. It changes.”

This is certainly interesting and I look forward to see how it will work out on screen. Nottingham was set to begin filming this year, however it got delayed because the ‘leaves were not green enough’ in Sherwood Forest at this time of year. I suppose that is a good enough reason, but you would have thought with today’s technology they could have worked around it somehow.

Anyway, expect Nottingham staring Russell Crowe, Sienna Miller and Russell Crowe, to begin filming when the leaves are the right shade of green again.

Another Great Australia Trailer

I’m not really into that romantic mumbo jumbo, however I am actually quite looking forward to Baz Luhrmann Australia. The previous trailers and imagery we have seen have been quite something, but this latest trailer has confirmed that I will be seeing this when it is released. The trailer starts off casually, exploring the predictable relationship between Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, and then BAM! The trailer switches. The epic music kicks in and then it gets exciting.

Watch it below!

Kenneth Branagh To Direct Thor!

According to Variety, Kenneth Branagh is in negotiations to direct Thor for Marvel Studios. This choice by Marvel is surprising in a way, considering Branagh has not directed a big action adventure movie before. However, that seems to be the way things are going lately. Jon Favreau ended up directing Iron Man, Warner Bros gave the Batman franchise to Christopher Nolan and Gavin Hood was chosen by Marvel and Fox to direct X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now is a good time to be a director of smaller movies!

Thor already has a script which was written by I Am Legend writer Mark Protosevich and previous director Matthew Vaughn. The film follows a disabled medical student named Donald Blake, who has an alter ego as the hammer-wielding Norse god Thor.

Thor has a release date of June 2010, which is a few months after Iron Man 2 is released. (Expect crossovers!)
