Another trailer for The Social Network. This one contains actual footage!

the social network movieColumbia has released the first real trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network. Over the past few weeks we have been given two slightly similar teaser trailers (quite good ones at that). but now we finally get to see the faces behind the dialogue.

Unfortunately for Columbia they can’t advertise The Social Network on Facebook itself as “Facebook’s advertising guidelines don’t allow ads to reference the company unless Facebook has cooperated with the object of the ad.” Although i’m sure the beginning of the trailer will be enough to let people know that it’s about something they probably use on a daily basis.

The film is based on the book “Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal” and stars Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Justin Timberlake as Napster founder Sean Parker (who eventually became a Facebook executive) as well as Andrew Garfield (our future Spider-Man), Rooney Mara, Rashida Jones and Max Minghella.

The Social Network will be released on October 1st.
