The World War II drama Dunkirk is Christopher Nolan’s next film and here’s a short yet still fantastic sneak peek at the summer 2017 epic.
“Allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain, Canada and France are surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II.”
Christopher Nolan has proven time and time again that he is one of the great storytellers of his generation, so I’m obviously looking forward to seeing what he does with Dunkirk just as much as I was with Interstellar two years ago. Filming on Dunkirk started May 23rd and it’s still going on as we speak, which is probably why there’s so little shown in this teaser. Even so that last shot gave me chills, so if the full movie is more of that, this is absolutely one of my most anticipated movies of 2017.
Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, Dunkirk stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh and many others. Hans Zimmer is the film’s composer and the whole thing is shot on IMAX 65 mm and 65 mm large format film stock by Interstellar cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema, so expect an incredible theater experience.
Dunkirk will be out in the US and around the world on July 21st 2017.
