Anchorman 2 isn’t even close to filming yet, but that hasn’t stopped Paramount from starting the marketing campaign. We’ll be seeing a teaser trailer attached to The Dictator (so expect it to appear online any day now), and today we have the first teaser poster which confirms the movie will be called Anchorman: The Legend Continues
While not all the original cast members are signed on for the sequel, most if not all are expected to return, and the story will focus on the dawn of the 24-hour news cycle in 1978-79. McKay told Empire “all of a sudden, local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors, and any time you’re talking about diversity and the Action News team, that’s always fun to deal with.”
We’ve had no official announcement on when we can expect to see the follow-up, but Paramount will probably set the Anchorman 2 release date for late-2013 or 2014.
