Were sticking with the music theme! According to the BBC, Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson are apparently working on the theme song for Quantum Of Solace. I first thought this news was just gossip site speculation, as Winehouse appears on them everyday for taking drugs or going shopping in her bra. However, the BBC are reporting it, and they have quotes from Mark Ronson himself!
“Hopefully it will get used. We’re working on it and we’ll see happens,” the producer told BBC 6 Music.
He said it was Winehouse who was first approached about the Bond theme tune.
“They asked Amy, and I think Amy said that if she did it, she’d want to do it with me. So hopefully something will come of it,” he told the station’s Music Week’s show.
“The demo sounds like a James Bond theme, hopefully. But I don’t know if it’ll get used.”
He added: “I’m sure there are loads more really famous people that probably we’re competing with and we don’t know about. I’m not sure.
“But hopefully I’ll still be alive for at least 12 more Bond themes. If we don’t get this one maybe we’ll get another one.”
I am a fan of both Ronson and Winehouse, even though she is a mess 90% of the time. Winehouse won 5 Grammys earlier this year for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and Best Pop Vocal Album. So it’s fair to say she has the talent.
If she gets her act together then I think she and Ronson will do a great Bond theme, however we’ll have to hear it before we judge!
