Alice Eve may have missed out on playing Captain America’s love interest a few months ago but it looks like she will still be seen in a superhero movie next summer as according to Deadline the British actress is in talks to play Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class.
Earlier this month we heard that Rosamund Pike may have been up for the role, however we have since learned that she will likely play Moira MacTaggert instead (Xavier’s ex-wife in the comics who was responsible for co-founding Xavier’s Institute for Gifted Youngsters).
Alice Eve, who was recently seen in Sex and the City 2, is a good choice to play Emma Frost. For those unfamiliar with Emma she is a mutant with powers of telepathy, similar to that of Xavier. She can broadcast and receive thoughts, control minds, alter perceptions and memories etc. In the comics she is known for being a bit of a b*tch (being dubbed the White Queen) and she started off as an enemy to the X-Men, but she later joined them.
So far we only know that X-Men: First Class will focus on Magneto and Xavier as they battle a villain (who has yet to be revealed) and form the X-Men. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender have been confirmed for those roles, as has Benjamin Walker who will be playing Beast. We will likely hear further casting over the upcoming weeks ready for filming beginning in August.
