Alex Garland, the frequent Danny Boyle collaborator who wrote the scripts for The Beach, Sunshine, and 28 Days Later, has been hired by Warner Bros. to write the script for their remake of Logan’s Run according to Heat Vision.
Last month it was announced that Carl Erik Rinsch would be directing the film which sees a future society that demands the death of everyone upon reaching a certain age. Anyone who veers from that destiny is dubbed a “runner” and is hunted by operatives known as Sandmen. Logan is a Sandman who is forced to go on the run.
X2 director Bryan Singer was originally set to direct the remake but he decided to direct Superman Returns instead. The film has been in development hell for a few years, but Warner Bros. snapped up Rinsch following the debut of his short film, which you can watch below.
