Agent Coulson will lead S.H.I.E.D. T.V. show

shield tv coulson Image It hasn’t been too long since we learned the cast of characters that would be appearing on the upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. T.V. show, but it appears that there was one major name left out. It looks like Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) who appeared in; Thor, both Iron Man movies, The Avengers, and two Marvel One-Shots, will be back on the small screen.

It was revealed that Coulson would be coming back at the New York Comic-Con while Gregg was speaking about his role on the animated show Ultimate Spider-man. Now all four of you who haven’t seen The Avengers should avert your eyes, because here’s a spoiler alert. Coulson gets killed by Loki about halfway through the film. At least that’s the way it would seem. Coulson’s last words implied that for the heroes needed something to avenge, AKA him.

We know that Nick Fury lied to the Avengers about the circumstances surrounding Coulson’s death, but now it looks like the entire death was fabricated to motivate the team. It’s a well-known fact that nobody ever really stays dead in comic books (well, except Uncle Ben) and it looks like that rule now also applies to Marvel’s cinematic universe.

I uhh don’t like that. He got stabbed through the chest right where his heart would be. He’s dead. They did say the TV show would exist outside the movie universe, didn’t they?

Honestly I’m not particularly fond of them bringing him back either, his death really meant something in Avengers, but it was just a dirty tick apparently, kinda lessens the impact. But the show is actually connected to the movie universe, according to Wheadon.
