Okay Ghost in the Shell won’t really hack your mind, but there is stuff like that going on in the movie, as you’ll see in the following trailer.
Yeah, that mind hack thing did not look fun for the people it was done to. Sure, this trailer might not be as cool as the previous one (no Depeche Mode cover), but it still had plenty of fantastic shots and even more things straight from the anime (tank battle looked amazing). I continue to be very impressed with what they showed so far and how true they seem to stay to the source material (although they might be tacking one too many stories), while at the same time keeping my expectations in check as I know there’s a good chance Ghost in the Shell might not turn out that great (call it a hunch). And even if it’s not, the incredible visuals should be enough to make it watchable.
Rupert Sanders directed Ghost in the Shell while Jamie Moss penned the screenplay, based on the manga by Masamune Shirow. Starring in the sci-fi thriller are Scarlett Johansson, Michael Pitt, Juliet Binoche, Takeshi Kitano, Michael Wincott, Pilou Asbaek and many others.
Ghost in the Shell drops March 31st.
