Spider-Man 4 Gets New Writer

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony are in final talks with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire to write Spider-Man 4. Zodiac screenwriter James Vanderbilt has already written the first draft, so whether Lindsay-Abaire will be brought in to do re-writes or to completely start from scratch is unknown. Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire are back, as are producers Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad. Kirsten Dunst also is expected to return. No word on story or plot details yet, although I am betting there will be no dancing or emo eyeliner involved…

Darren Aronofsky Talks Robocop

Back in July it was announced that the director of The Fountain and Requiem for a Dream, would be directing the Robocop sequel/reboot. This meant that there was a 95% chance that the remake will not suck. Since July things have been a bit quite, as Aronofsky has been busy on other films, however he recently spoke to Empire about how things are progressing. “It's a real reinvention,” he told us, responding to those rumours that the movie would somehow follow on or be a direct sequel to Paul Verhoeven's…

Angels & Demons Teaser Trailer

The teaser trailer for Ron Howard's Angels & Demons has just worked it's way online, and is probably one of the best teaser's I have seen in a while. Watch it below! The team behind the global phenomenon The Da Vinci Code returns for the highly anticipated Angels & Demons, based upon the bestselling novel by Dan Brown. Tom Hanks reprises his role as Harvard religious expert Robert Langdon, who once again finds that forces with ancient roots are willing to stop at nothing, even murder, to advance their goals. Ron Howard…

The Day the Earth Stood Still And Watched A 5 Minute Trailer For The Day the Earth Stood Still

If you have a spare five minutes you may be interested in watching a new super long trailer for The Day the Earth Stood Still. I wouldn't say I'm excited for this but it does look somewhat interesting. The effects look rather cool and you can tell 20th Century Fox have thrown some money at it. But then again, I once threw money at a hooker and it wasn't very good.
The Day the Earth Stood Still will be released on December 12th…

Mark Millar Talks About His Epic 8 Hour Superman Trilogy

We have heard Mark Millar talk about his Superman idea for a while now, which he is apparently working closely with a ‘big-Hollywood action director’ on. There is no word yet on whether Warner Bros are considering making his vision a reality, however after reading his interview with Empire I seriously hope they do. "The Dark Knight showed you can take a comic book property and make a serious film, and I think the studios are ready to listen to bigger ideas now.” His idea is for an 8-hour…

Joaquin Phoenix Retires From Acting Forever

Joaquin Phoenix made an announcement during an interview with E! Online that he was retiring from acting to concentrate on his music. Things got a little awkward when the reported laughed in his face, thinking Joaquin was messing around. Kate Beckinsale Done With Underworld

The trailer for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans appeared online last week, and Underworld fans may have noticed that Kate Beckinsale was no where in sight (although her lookalike Rhona Mitra was). Well ComingSoon.net recently spoke to Beckinsale, and asked her what her current Underworld status was/is. After talking about her husband, director Len Wiseman's involvement as the co-writer and producer with that movie, we asked whether she would have interest in returning as Selene for another movie continuing her story. She did think they might continue the series beyond…

Russell Crowe To Play A Werewolf?

According to Bloody-Disgusting.com and wenn Russell Crowe is set to play a werewolf in a movie that will be directed by his pal Ridley Scott. We learned of some interesting news this evening as we were tipped off that Ian Jeffers, who wrote both James Wans' drama-thriller DEATH SENTENCE and Sylvain White's upcoming adaptation of CASTLEVANIA, has sold an original script to legendary director-produce Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner). Here's the juicy tid-bit... apparently the film is a werewolf project! We already have The Wolfman with Benicio Del Toro…
