Don’t Mess With Watchmen Fans

When it was revealed that Fox were taking legal action against Warner Bros over Zack Snyder's Watchmen I was pretty annoyed, and I haven't even read the graphic novel. So I can only image how pi**ed of the hardcore Watchmen fans were. Well now I don't have to imagine, because one particular fan is taking action: A 20-year-old orange county man, Wyatt Barlup, wants to mobilize California locals to help him picket at FOX headquarters. He's putting out a call to war and wants to lead an…

John Noble Wouldn’t Return For The Hobbit

Actor John Noble, who played Denethor in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, has told MTV that he would not be interested in returning to play his character in The Hobbit. No way, no how, no McCain! If they said, ‘Would you come and play Denethor again,’” Noble said, “I would have to say, ‘No, I’m doing [new J.J. Abrams television series] ‘Fringe’! And I certainly couldn’t play a younger Denethor or even Echelion…

Batman 3 Depends On Nolan

Everyone wants and expects another Batman after the greatness that was The Dark Knight, however director Christopher Nolan is not the sort of director who just does things for the money. He has said a number of times that he would only do another film if he had a story to tell (which many believe he has). However, both him and writer David Goyer intended to make The Dark Knight a standalone film, so that there would be no loose ends should a third movie never come. Well, buried…

Peter Jackson Directing First Tintin Movie, Not Spielberg

Update: Herge Studios got it wrong and Steven Spielberg IS still directing the first movie, with Jackson directing the second. According to dhnet.be the first Tintin movie will now be directed by Peter Jackson, not Steven Spielberg who has been attached to direct for a number of months. Peter Jackson was originally set to direct the first movie, however Spielberg took the reigns as Jackson had to go and work on The Hobbit. Now it seems Peter Jackson is back in the director chair. The first of the planned Tintin…

Want $11 Million? Fall Out Of A Truck!

Here's some more bad news for Tom Cruise and his upcoming Valkyrie movie. 11 extras fell out of a moving truck during filming in Berlin last year, and are now trying to sue United Artists for $11 million. The accident happened almost exactly one year ago and saw all 11, still wearing their Wehrmacht uniforms, sent to the hospital with an array of injuries, ranging from bumps and bruises to broken ribs and pulled ligaments. One extra was kept in the hospital for four days on suspicion of internal…

Quantum Of Solace Empire Cover

The October edition of Empire Magazine will feature Quantum of Solace on the front cover, which you can see below. It shows Daniel Craig looking like he has just won a long and hard battle with a moose, and Empire declare that Quantum of Solace will be the bloodiest Bond ever (although it will obviously be keeping within the restraints of a PG-13 rating).

Quantum of Solace kicks off from where Casino Royal left off and we can expect a new trailer in September, which should pump…

Doctor Who Movie?

Doctor Who has been a ratings winner ever since it was rebooted in 2005. However, the BBC are now planning to make four specials in place of a full season. Does this mean Doctor Who is running out of steam? Well according to head writer Steven Moffat (who turned down writing the script for Steven Spielberg's Tintin trilogy to work on Doctor Who) the doctor hasn't finished yet, as a movie could be on the cards. ...as long as it never gets in the way of the…

Previz Iron Man Footage

Added extras on the upcoming Iron Man DVD will include lots of previz shots that Jon Favreau and his FX team put together so they could see how a scene would look before they eventually filmed it. Luckily for us, we don't have to wait until the DVD's release on September 30th, as Pixel Liberation Front, a visual FX studio that worked on the film, have posted a previs-to-finished-effect comparison of the Iron Man trailer. I am no good with split screens and lasted 10 seconds before my brain started to swell with all the concentration needed. However if you are…
