Venom Spin-Off On The Way

VenomBack in February there was talk of Sony looking at writers for a possible Venom movie, and now we have news that a draft script has been written by Jacob Estes. However, the studio is considering going in a different direction from Estes’ script and is seeking writers for a new draft.

Venom was played by Topher Grace in Spider-Man 3, however apparently he may be replaced, which would be easy considering Venom is a substance rather than a character.

Sony is still hoping to release Spider-Man 4 in 2011, and Sam Raimi confirmed at Comic Con that he is still waiting to read the script. If we get the fourth Spider-Man movie in 2011 that would be 9 years after we got the first Spider-Man movie back in 2002.

LaBeouf Injury Slows Transformers 2

A few days ago Shia LaBeouf was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after an accident. Well it turns out it wasn’t his fault as some dumb person thought red lights don’t apply to them. Although the police let him go, he had to have hand surgery as a result of the accident and will be resting for a month. This has thrown a wrench into the filming schedule of Transformers 2 and so far two days of filming have been lost. Scenes featuring co-star Josh Duhamel had to be moved to this week to work around LaBeouf’s hand pain, and everyone has had to adjust their schedule.

The possibility of a SAG strike couldn’t stop the mighty Transformers, yet one man has the power to cause chaos among the production with the palm of his hand.

All hail LaBeouf!

Angelina Jolie As Catwoman?

Despite writer David Goyer saying he doesn’t want Catwoman in the third Batman film, there are rumours whipping around that Angelina Jolie could be up for the role. Well according to a 74 year old woman she could be anyway.

Julie Newmar, Hollywood’s most iconic “Catwoman,” thinks Angelina Jolie is the right choice to slip into her skintight costume - once the steamy actress is back in fighting form.

“Angelina would own the part,” said Newmar.

“My industry friends tell me [she] has made inquiries about the role,” added the actress, who played Catwoman in the original “Batman” TV series starring Adam West.

Jolie probably would ‘own the role’ and has stared in a couple of action movie in her time so the stunts and whipping wouldn’t be a problem. However, if Angelina Jolie and The Dark Knight have a Google Fight she only loses by 3 million. Does Christopher Nolan really want an actress that will almost be as big as the film itself? We know Warner Bros weren’t too happy with Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise taking away some shine off the Batman Begins release. What if Jolie gets pregnant again? Or what if her and Christian Bale get together, leaving Brad Pitt to do all the magazine interviews and telling everyone he’s ‘doing fine’?

I think if Catwoman were to make an appearance (which I doubt she will) then she should be played by Miss Eva Green.

If not give Helen Mirren a call. She’ll do it.

Happy Birthday Christoper Nolan!

In my time zone I am too late, but in countries whether the darkness of night has not yet fallen…it is Christopher Nolan’s 38th birthday!

Lets hope the director is not too intoxicated to miss The Dark Knight sliding past the $500 million worldwide mark in a day or three.

New Dragonball Pic

Hoy Cinema got a new hi-res image from Dragonball. It was so hi-res that it took up half of my computer space. However, my pet parrot Steve talked me through the whole resizing process and all is well again. The image shows Justin Chatwin casually holding a Dragon Ball while Emmy Rossum has a ‘my hair looks ridiculous’ face.

Beware! A trailer will be released soon…hide!
