Coolness: Royal Mail Hammer Horror Stamps

The UK Royal Mail are celebrating 50 years of Hammer Horror films with three new stamps featuring original cinema posters of Dracula, The Mummy and The Curse of Frankenstein, which all stared Christopher Lee. Lee will make history next month by being among the first living non-royals to be portrayed on a British stamp, breaking an 80 year old tradition. The Queen has personally approved the designs, and the British public will be able to get licking them in June. Larger versions can be seen below!…

Peter Jackson Directing Hellboy 3?

During the live chat with Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro yesterday one question caught my eye. manuthevif: Guillermo, Will Peter be directing Hellboy 3 at some point? Guillermo del Toro: Offers have been made but he remains elusive- we will be in talks soon. I suppose it could make some sense, seen as though Guillermo will be busy in New Zealand for the next four years. However, Jackson himself may be too busy with the Tintin trilogy, as he will be directing the second movie, and may end up…

Jackie Chan Planning Earthquake Film

I'm sure everyone is familiar with the recent Chinese earthquake, and its ever rising death toll. Well, Jackie Chan has already donated $1.4 million to those who need it, and is now planning to make a movie of the earthquake to raise money for the survivors. Chan is apparently meeting directors and scriptwriters to get the project off the ground. "I want to make the movie about the earthquake because there's so many touching stories," he said. Russian Communists Unhappy With Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones Russia

The BBC is reporting that Members of the Russian Communist party have called for the new Indiana Jones film to be banned in the county because they say it distorts history. Moscow Communist official Andrei Andreyev said: "It is very disturbing if talented directors want to provoke a new Cold War." Steven Spielberg starting a new Cold War!? I think someone is over-reacting just a tad! He said many Russian cinemagoers were teenagers who would be "completely unaware of what happened in 1957", when the film is set. "They will go to the cinema and…

Site Update: Server Migration Completed

Since Filmonic began back in October 2007 it has stayed on the same hosting service, however the site has now outgrown that and I have just moved the site onto a VPS (Virtual Private Server). There have been a number of occasions when the site posted news that brought in a lot of attention. Sites such as Digg, Reddit even PerezHilton.com brought in thousands of visitors, which ended up crashing the site. Now the site is on a better server it will be generally faster, and when…

Incredible New Hulk Clips!

Two new clips from The Incredible Hulk have smashed their way online, via Yahoo!, IGN and MTV. (MTV suck because I cannot watch the new clip due to the place I live! Its the damn internet for Christ's sake!) Anyway, the clips are awesome. This time last month I wasn't expecting much from the green man's second outing, but now I can't wait to see it. I don't expect the whole movie to be full of Hulk smashes but if these clips are anything to go by, we are in for a treat.…
